Roman Franta
- 1962, CZ
Roman Franta is a graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague. He is one of the most striking personalities in painting with a rich repertoire of form and content expression. He entered the wider audience awareness through a series of structural insect paintings which earned him a nomination for the Jindřich Chalupecký prize. Another line of his work is expressive painting through which he captures more serious and narrative topics. Nowadays, he focuses on capturing contemporary society and his personal experiences which he comments with a playful ironic distance in unusually provocative contexts. He is represented in many private and public art collections. He exhibits in the Czech Republic and internationally.
