Jan Heres

Jan Heres studied Painting in the studio of Professor Michael Rittstein at the Prague Academy of Arts. However, his view of creation was significantly shaped by a two-semester internship with professor Jiří Sopek. He decided to pursue a career as a painter in the second year of his studies at the Václav Hollar College of Arts and Crafts and he now works in a studio in Libeň. His work and, above all, his perception of color were greatly influenced by his foreign experiences - an internship at the Indonesian Art Institute in Yogyakarta and a one-year stay in Valencia. In his paintings, he visualizes the themes of his own experiences, he is inspired by human stories and the sensibility arising from them. He is an occasional skier, played professional tennis and enjoys traveling.
