Uptown Funk

Jan Heres studied Painting in the studio of Professor Michael Rittstein at the Prague Academy of Arts. However, his view of creation was significantly shaped by a two-semester internship with professor Jiří Sopek. He decided to pursue a career as a painter in the second year of his studies at the Václav Hollar College of Arts and Crafts and he now works in a studio in Libeň. His work and, above all, his perception of color were greatly influenced by his foreign experiences - an internship at the Indonesian Art Institute in Yogyakarta and a one-year stay in Valencia.
