Pavel Roučka is a prominent figure in Czech painting, known for his original and distinctive work. In addition to painting, he is also involved in graphic art and illustration. An important aspect of Pavel Roučka's personality is his connection to sports. In his youth he was a top-level canoeist, winning several national championships. In 2023 and 2024, he created a series of paintings dedicated to cycling. His paintings are not descriptive; Roučka abstracts movement and emotions to the maximum extent, yet he manages to convey to the viewer the intense experiences of the athletes and their battles with both physical and mental limits.
