Milena Dopitová

Milena Dopitová is a graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague (1987-94, Intermedia Studio, under Professor Milan Knížák) and a member of the Pondělí group. Since 2015, she has led the Intermedia Studio at the Prague Academy of Fine Arts. She works with installations and objects, and also engages in the mediums of photography and moving images (video). The artist is interested in the objects and social events that surround her. She perceives the realm of sports as a unique language system that is inspirational for visual art. In her conceptually oriented work, she connects the internal movement of reflective thought with external physical movement and sensory perception. Her videos often convey an atmosphere of comprehensive experience, while her objects and installations reference memory and the capabilities of the body.
