Marek Číhal

Marek Číhal is a graduate of Vladimír Skrepl's studio at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague. He describes his work as a visual game of free movement between the media of painting and drawing with overlaps into installation and architecture. He develops his themes with a strongly expressive accent, in which one can see echoes of neo-expressionism and the graffiti scene. During his career to date he has received a number of prestigious awards. He is similarly successful in his exhibition work and is represented in numerous private collections in the Czech Republic and abroad. He is a member of the international art group Bongo Bongo Brigade, collaborates with the architectural Studio Acht and his work is often included in contemporary art shows.
