Fritha Strand
- 1984, USA
Fritha Strand is an American artist exploring the visual language of the Tscha-kole-chy Island landscape (Whidbey Island, Washington). Since her studies at Washington State University, where she started rowing and spent a lot of her time surrounded by water, she’s been fascinated with the landscape around her. In her work, she uses primarily acrylics and pastels through which she tries to capture her feelings when observing the colours, lines and reflections of the sky, land and water. She understands landscape as a portrait with a face that looks back at you and carries its own story.
