About the artwork
This work was created in 2022 as part of a group exhibition called ROW ROW ROW RAČICE, which was presented at the venue of the 2022 World Rowing Championships in Račice. The exhibition is an artistic response by leading Czech and international artists to the beauty of this sport.
"I started this painting during lockdown, when all the yards were closed and I couldn't get on the boat. The sea symbolizes a difficult time, the pair symbolizes that we are not alone in this, and the beach itself symbolizes the hope that we will overcome the difficult times and land safely."
