The painting Záslepka is not just about boxing but also about personal courage to face an unknown challenge, much like the painting Vnitřní boj. Its perhaps mischievous name has its justification. It was created as part of a series of small paintings for a specific exhibition installation at the Prácheňské Museum titled Walk Together Side by Side. Along with the others, it served as a banal cover for unsightly sockets and switches in the exhibition space.

Jitka Petrášová, CZ

is a graduate of the Department of Art, Faculty of Education at the University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice. Since 2019 she’s been studying at Robert Šalanda’s atelier at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague. She is naturally drawn to figural painting. In her work, she focuses on processing her formative experiences from childhood and early adulthood.
