A leading figurative painter and object creator, Lubomír Typlt is a graduate of the Academy of Arts, Architecture, and Design in Prague (specializing in illustration and book design under Professor Jiří Šalamoun), the Faculty of Fine Arts in Brno (painting studio under Professor Jiří Načeradský), and the Kunstakademie in Düsseldorf (painting studio under Professors Marcus Lüpertz, Gerhard Merz, and A. R. Penck). In addition to painting, he is also involved in activities with the music group WWW, where he contributes as a lyricist and visual designer for their CDs. The main themes in his work include the socialization of the individual and their integration into social systems and collectives, reflecting on totalitarian mechanisms, manipulative patterns, and various forms of repression. Movement in Typlt's work is primarily connected with the excess or lack of human energy that is utilized, exploited, or abused by society.
