Ivan Komárek graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague in the studio of Jan Smetana. Ivan Komárek works mainly with the human figure in his painting, graphic and often sculptural work. During his studies at the Academy of Fine Arts, his love for sport, especially boxing, began, which led to the founding of the Boxart group of boxing artists. In addition, he is generally fascinated by sexuality and the human body, which he playfully stylizes into a variety of situations and forms. His work is characterized by strict geometric discipline, rich colour and compositional order.
